Mike Butash has been practicing law for more than 30 years and has built a reputation throughout the Tampa Bay area as an experienced, dedicated, and trusted trial attorney. Over the course of his career, Mike has represented thousands of clients in criminal defense, personal injury, family law, DUI, and traffic matters.
A lifelong Tampa Bay area resident, Mike earned his B.S. degree in Criminology with Honors from Florida State University before graduating from Stetson University College of Law in 1997.
Following law school, Mike began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, serving Pinellas and Pasco Counties. There, he gained extensive courtroom experience, initially handling misdemeanor cases before advancing to the prosecution of serious felony offenses.
After a brief period serving as in-house counsel for Nationwide Insurance, Mike entered private practice, where he continued building his criminal defense and personal injury practices.
In 2002, Mike founded his own law practice, which eventually evolved into Butash Law Group. Today, Butash Law Group carries forward his commitment to providing experienced, personal, and dedicated legal representation to individuals and families throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Throughout his criminal defense career, Mike has represented thousands of individuals facing charges ranging from First Degree Murder, DUI Manslaughter, Sexual Battery, Drug Trafficking, and serious felony offenses to DUI, Domestic Battery, Simple Battery, and Petit Theft.
For approximately 25 years, Mike has represented individuals and families who have been injured because of the negligence or wrongdoing of others.
His personal injury experience includes helping clients navigate the physical, emotional, and financial consequences of car accidents, traffic accidents, serious injuries, and other personal injury claims.

Mike is a lifelong animal lover and has always had a special place in his heart for animals. Away from the courtroom, one of his favorite ways to unwind is riding his Harley. For Mike, riding is more than a hobby, it is a chance to get out on the open road, clear his head, and enjoy the freedom that comes with being on two wheels.
Mike also believes strongly in giving back to the community and supporting people who have dedicated their lives to serving others. He is particularly passionate about supporting wounded veterans and organizations that assist veterans and their families, and he contributes his time and resources to a variety of charitable and community causes.
