Are there special laws for bicyclists in Florida?

Generally speaking, no there are not special laws for bicyclists in the state of Florida. Cyclists who are riding on the roadway in Florida are subject motor vehicle laws. There are certain exceptions such as, there is often a mandate as to where a bicyclist must ride on the road during certain times when he or she is doing certain things but, generally speaking, they're treated as motor vehicles.
