Are bicycle accidents similar to pedestrian accidents?
Generally speaking, bicycle accidents are treated more like motor vehicle accidents than pedestrian accidents. When a bicyclist is riding on a Florida road, they are treated as a motorist and they are subject to the laws, the motor vehicle laws of the state. When a person is riding a bicycle on a sidewalk or a crosswalk they are then considered to be pedestrians and are subject to the pedestrian laws.
