How is the actual value of a car determined in a Florida auto accident case?

You are entitled to recover the fair market value of your vehicle, and it's as known as the actual cash value of your vehicle. There are a number of factors that can play a part into determining what that number is. What's commonly known out there as Kelley Blue Book is referred to by a lot of insurance companies and a lot of other players out there, but that's not the only basis. I would suggest that you look at the classified, the internet, and look at your local car lots to determine what is the actual value of your vehicle and then that's going to give you some negotiation room with the insurance company when they tell you what they feel the actual value of your car is.
