What are my rights and responsibilities as a bicycle rider in Florida?

Your rights and responsibilities as a bicycle rider in the state of Florida are the exact same, for the most part, as the rights and responsibilities of a motorist in the state of Florida. When you're riding your bicycle on the road in the state of Florida, you're considered to be a motorist. Therefore, you have every right to ride your bicycle on the road, but you also have the responsibility to do so safely and to comply with all of the Florida traffic laws and regulations.
