In my Florida divorce case, can we decide ourselves how to divide our property?

Yes, in Florida you can determine how to divide your property among yourselves. That's actually the preferred method. Alternative dispute resolution away from trial such as mediation, negotiation, those are usually the best ways to resolve a case with the least hostility. We encourage the parties to get together because the theory is, if you are negotiating something out, both parties are agreeing to something they can live with as opposed to going to trial where a court may order you into something that you can't live with.
