Divorce Lawyer Costs and Fees

Posted by Michael G. Butash | Sep 27, 2018 | 0 Comments

No matter what the reason for going to court is, it is almost imperative that you hire the assistance of an attorney or lawyer. This is no different even if it is something in civil court like a divorce case and a divorce lawyer. Temple Terrace residents should be aware that although a professional is not changing the services between different types of court cases, Divorce cases are usually handled on an hourly basis instead of a flat rate because many times no two divorce cases are the same, and there are somethings a lawyer must do in some cases but not all of them.

Dealing with Hours not Fees

Being that divorce lawyer's temple terrace residents might have to deal with charge more often by hours than a flat fee, many people often ask how long does a divorce usually take? Well this question is a little tricky to answer because some divorces both sides can agree on reasonable terms, while other couples only settle their dispute by taking the matter to court. For couple that's come to an agreement and settle before they reach court can expect about fifteen to thirty hours of work put into by your attorney. If the case is taken to court, couples can expect their case to be dragged out an additional ten to fifty hours depending on the situation.

What are Lawyers Doing in this Time?

Because so much money is at stake for an individual who is hiring the assistance of a divorce lawyer, Temple Terrace residents want to know what all of their time is doing to better your case. Most of the time and labor that is used for divorce cases is in fact going to filling out paperwork and typing up documents to be submitted to the court and also the other party involved in your case. Additionally, these lawyers also get paid to at as a mediator or as a go between for you and your spouse that you are separating from.
