How Much can a DUI Cost?

Posted by Michael G. Butash | Sep 27, 2018 | 0 Comments

A lot of people know that it is not good to drink in drive because of the risks, but it is also because they know of the negative repercussions it can have on their lives. Most people know that you could have your license suspended but they might not be aware of all the fees associated with a DUI. Even with a DUI attorney, New Port Richey residents can end up spending a couple thousands of dollars in fines ad rate changes do to one instance of getting pulled over and jailed for driving under the influence.

Increase Insurance Rates

Even if you did not hit anything and damage your vehicle or someone else's property, an insurance company is going to increase the rates to cover them and their car if they are charges with a DUI. Although a professional can argue to the best of their ability as a DUI attorney, New Port Richey residents are not guaranteed a reduction in the cost of their insurance fees. From the perspective of a car insurance company, drunk drivers are seen as more of a liability because they are more likely to drink and get themselves or someone else into a dangerous situation.

Other Automobile Fees

Even you hire a DUI attorney, New Port Richey residents are still going to have to pay for additional fees from their night of drinking and driving. Most people have to take a mandatory DUI class which can cost a couple hundreds of dollars. Not only that, but you an individual is going to have to pay for towing and storage fees because their car had to be towed somewhere and stored for safekeeping. Last, there are also fees associated with the DMV and trying to get your license reinstated. Drinking and driving can cost way more than the price of a lawyer to represent you.
