What is the defense of entrapment?
Entrapment occurs when law enforcement induces a person to commit a crime in which they are not otherwise predisposed to do. There are several factors that a court will consider when weighing the defense of entrapment, and that includes the persistence of law enforcement in making contact with the defendant, who actually initiated the contact with the defendant, and also the defendant's reluctance in committing the crime.
