Generally the answer is yes, but at first I would suggest you contact an attorney to talk to you about what may or may not happen at a hearing regarding your traffic citation. The situation is going to depend on if you are adjudicated guilty, if you receive a withhold of adjudication, and a number of other factors. I would suggest that you at least require a hearing, because if you just pay the ticket you’re going to be convicted of it and you’re going to receive points against your driver’s license. Just because you may feel that you’re at fault, you may be able to go in there and keep the points off your driver’s license and receive a withhold of adjudication, and that may help you as far as defending any type of accident that you’re in or recovering any type of damages that you may feel that you are entitled to.
