What is an uncontested divorce?
An uncontested divorce is a divorce where both parties agree on its terms. It’s the quickest and easiest form of divorce. Therefore, it’s the cheapest form of divorce. What we do is we draft up a marital settlement agreement, memorializing the agreement of the parties. Each party signs it, has their signature notarized on it, and then we file that along with a petition for dissolution of marriage, and set it for a quick uncontested final hearing, and it’s all done.
